The record for your NTRO will need to be manually entered into the UWA Profiles and Research Repository using one of the NTRO templates.

- Log into the UWA Profiles and Research Repository with your UWA credentials.
- Click on the + Add content button

- Select Research Output, then Create from Template. Select Non-traditional research output and then select the relevant template for your work. A yellow box will appear when you hover over each template name which provides more information about the scope of work that it should be used for.
- The NTRO template will open in a new window. Enter the relevant metadata to the record, as described in steps below.
- Peer-reviewed / Not peer-reviewed - select which applies
- Publication year (month and date optional)
- Original language
- Title - if no official title, provide a descriptive title
- Abstract - Please record a detailed description of the work, suitable for reading by both colleagues and the public, free from jargon , and which describes the creative work including:
- Methodologies
- Genres, formats or other more specific details about the form of work
- Instrumentation for a musical work
- Media involved in an artwork
- Software used to create and/or access digital works
- File type for any digital NTROs
- Media of Output - options vary based on the template selected.
- Extent/Size - Please indicate the size of the work. This can vary based on the media of the work. For example, extent could be in centimetres for a physical work, or minutes duration for a performance, recording, audiovisual work. Include the units of measurement.
- Contributors - everyone involved in creating the NTRO. Use the Add person functionality to add any other contributors to the record and select their Role.

- Managing Organisational Unit - will automatically populate with your current UWA affiliation. If it does not, manually enter it by typing your current UWA School or Centre and selecting it from the dropdown menu.
- Open Access Version of this output - only add a DOI or link here if your work is already published and publicly available
- Add other link - populate with details of relevant websites, collaborators, publishers, events, etc.
- Add other file - upload verification materials.
- 2020 Fields of research - add one or more FoR codes and apportionments
- Select Add 2020 Fields of research
- Click on the + icon and search for the relevant codes
- Enter the apportionment and click Create. You can assign up to three FoR codes, as long as the apportionments add up to 100%.
- Optionally, Request Open Access Processing.
- Add Funding Details - if your work was funded by a grant, add your grant information to the record.
- Under Funding Source select Add funding source...
- Select the appropriate funding source from the list of available options.
- Once you have selected the funding source, add the grant ID/s to the Free keywords field.
- Event - If relevant (e.g. a performance as part of a larger programme) please add an Event title, date and location.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the record.
Research outputs become visible in the Repository based on their audit status. All records default to private (non-public) when entered into the Repository. Once a Library staff member commences the audit process and changes the status to Approved the record will appear on your Profile. This can take up to five days depending on how many records are waiting to be approved.
