UWA Profiles and Research Repository Support

Guidance for setting up your UWA Profile and adding publications to your profile and the Repository.

Using Keywords

This section outlines three ways you can add keywords to your profile to make it easier to search and find you based on these terms.

Use 'Research Expertise' to highlight your research strengths, use "Industry Keywords' to indicate how these strengths link to industry and external partners and turn on your 'Fingerprint' to have a list of keywords displayed based on your publication abstracts.

Add Research Expertise keywords

By adding Research Expertise keywords to your profile, you can ensure that your research interests are meaningfully described and discoverable. These keywords will appear under the keywords section of your public profile and will be searchable using the free-text search option on the UWA Profiles and Research Repository homepage.

Enter your own terms to describe your expertise. Terms should be short 1-3 word statements or phrases.

  1. Log into the UWA Profiles and Research Repository with your UWA SSO credentials.
  2. Click on Edit profile.
  3. Scroll down the page until you come to the Keywords section > Research Expertise Keywords.
  4. Enter as many Keywords as you need to represent your various areas of expertise.
  5. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Add Industry keywords

  1. Click on Edit profile.
  2. Scroll down the page until you come to Add Industry Keywords.
  3. Select appropriate Industry Keywords from the list provided.
  4. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Editing your Fingerprint

Fingerprint terms are generated from your publication titles and abstracts, the titles and descriptions of your prizes, and the text in the Research Interests field of your profile (see instructions for adding Research Interests under Add your biography). These terms will be visible on your public profile under the Fingerprint tab but you may add/remove individual terms or turn off the entire Fingerprint.

  1. Click on Edit Profile
  2. Select Fingerprints from the menu on the left.
  3. Hover the cursor over the term you wish to remove and click the red x icon. The Fingerprint term will be removed.

  1. Alternatively, if you would like FingerPrints to be switched off entirely, toggle the on/off button accordingly.
  2. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
