UWA Profiles and Research Repository Support

Guidance for setting up your UWA Profile and adding publications to your profile and the Repository.

November is UWA Profiles Month

UWA Profiles are the official public-facing profiles of UWA staff and HDR students.

Maintaining a complete and up-to-date UWA profile is essential for promoting your research, your teaching and yourself within and beyond the University community. A well-prepared profile has the potential to:

  • highlight your expertise, publications and achievements to the wider community, media and research funders;
  • attract internal and external collaborators;
  • attract future students.

November is UWA Profiles Month and a great opportunity for you to ensure your profile is representing you in the best way possible!

How can I participate?

Whether you are setting your profile up from scratch, or you already have a well-populated profile, take some time this November to ensure that your UWA profile is not only comprehensive and up to date but appeals to the people who will benefit from your research findings, capabilities and teaching or supervisory skills.

1. Take advantage of the program of events and support designed to help you maximise your profile's potential. University Club coffee vouchers are available to the first 50 people who register for and attend a Profiles Month workshop or webinar.

2. Use the self-help material available to give your profile its annual health check:

  • Work through the Setting up your profile section of this guide to ensure that your profile contains the essential content.
  • Check that your ORCID iD is linked to the UWA Repository. Your ORCID record will be automatically updated when new outputs are added to the UWA Repository, saving you time and ensuring that your ORCID is always up to date.
  • See how you can use profile features to engage industry and external partners.
  • Indicate your availability to supervise PhD and Higher Degree by research students, if relevant, and direct potential students to current PhD/ research project opportunities.
