Survey Tools

To provide UWA staff and research students guidance on which survey tools they can use, and how to access and use them.

What is Qualtrics?

Qualtrics is an online tool for creating and distributing surveys which provides the ability to collect and analyse survey data for academic research purposes.

UWA subscribes to the Qualtrics CoreXM product. Read more about CoreXM on the Qualtrics website.

How do I access Qualtrics?

Login to Qualtrics with your UWA SSO credentials at https://uwa.qualtrics.com

Who can use Qualtrics?

Academic staff and students are eligible to use the UWA Qualtrics subscription for academic research purposes.

Before an HDR student distributes a survey, they must have the survey approved by their supervisor.

What can I use Qualtrics for?

Qualtrics can only be used for surveys with a clear academic research purpose.

Surveys with an operational focus such as recording attendance or feedback for events, application forms for positions, programs, awards etc and any use that would be considered commercial such as surveys for prospective students will fall under non-Academic research use. These surveys must be run on an alternative platform

Non-compliance could result in  the loss of ongoing access to Qualtrics for all UWA users, and financial and contractual complications for the University, including significant costs which may be awarded to Qualtrics for breach of license.

Ethics

Qualtrics surveys used in research by all staff and students will require the approval of the UWA Human Research Ethics Committee.

Terms of Use
