To provide UWA staff and research students guidance on which survey tools they can use, and how to access and use them.

Choosing a survey tool

UWA staff and students have access to a range of survey tools designed to support teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities. This guide will help you select the most appropriate platform for your specific requirements and the type of data you intend to collect. 

General survey tools

The University provides access to three tools which can be used for most survey types - QuestionPro, Microsoft Forms, and Qualtrics.

The following table compares these survey tools to help you decide which one is best for your purposes.

*Qualtrics is not suitable for collecting sensitive data that must be stored in Australia as its servers are currently located in the US

Special Purpose Survey Tools

Along with generalised survey tools, you may choose to use one of UWA's specialised survey tools

EchoPoll+ An interactive polling tool available to all UWA staff and students throught the UWA portal.
