Keeping Your Research Current: Books

Search alert for books in OneSearch

To set up a search alert:

  1. Sign in to OneSearch
  2. Conduct a search
    (To see books only, select the Resource Type: Books from the Refine my Results options)
  3. At the top of the search results page, click on the Save Query link
  4. When you search is saved you will get a message at the top of the screen. Clicking on the Turn on notification for this query link will set up an email alert for any new resources added to OneSearch based on your search query.
  5. You will receive an email periodically when new items that matches your query are found in OneSearch​

New titles, worldwide

You can browse newly-published books on the web pages of many libraries, publishers, and online booksellers. Email and RSS alerting services for specific subject areas or search terms can help keep you up-to-date.

Want to find out which of the latest books are worth reading? Book reviews in journals and newspapers are a good place to start. Here are some sources of reviews:

Recent Australian publications

Check out what's new on these lists of Recent Australian Publications from Trove

  • Books published in Australia, written by Australians, or containing Australian material
  • Lists can be viewed alphabetically or by subject area (Dewey number)
