Information Literacy for High School Students: Finding Information

Information literacy means being able to find, understand, evaluate and use information correctly. It is a critical ability for study and for life. Use this guide to build your skills.

Introduction to Finding Information

The ability to quickly locate quality information on any topic will save you more time when completing your assignments than any other skill.

Searching is iterative. This means that your initial keywords and strategy will likely evolve before you feel like your search is “complete”. Don’t be discouraged if your first set of results aren’t quite right – it’s all part of the process.

As you work through this module, you will gain an understanding of each step below before completing a quick activity to test your knowledge. The module will take around 25 minutes to complete.
