Download your PDF to a convenient location and then open the reference in Mendeley Desktop and go to the Details tab.

Then click on Add file.

Browse to the folder containing your PDF and select it.  It will then be attached to your reference.

When you have attached a PDF to a reference an icon will appear next to the refrence.  Clicking on the icon will open the PDF in a PDF reader where you can add highlights and notes.

Download your PDF to a convenient location and then open the reference in Mendeley Web and click on the Edit button.

Scroll down and click on the cloud icon.

Browse to the folder containing your PDF and select it.  It will then be attached to your reference when you click on Save..

When you have attached a PDF to a reference an icon will appear next to the reference.  Clicking on the icon will open the PDF in a PDF reader.

In Mendeley Web's Paper search, you can can get full text access to articles by connecting with the UWA Library OpenURL resolver.

To set up full text access to articles

• Click on My Account
• Select Account details
  
  
   
• Select the Sharing / Importing tab
• Under the Edit Library Access Links section, click on the Add library manually button
  
  

• type 'The University of Western Australia' (or any name you choose) in the Name box
• in the Base URL box, type http://primo-direct-apac.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/openurl/UWA/UWA_SERVICES_PAGE
• click on the Add Library link button
  
  
   
• The UWA Library link will now appear when you select Find this paper at... in Paper Search 
  
  

Note: When attaching PDF copies of journal articles or other published material to references in your Mendeley library, be mindful of the following copyright considerations:

• Under the copyright Fair Dealing exceptions, generally only one article per journal issue or 10% of a book can be copied. For more information on the Fair Dealing copyright exceptions, see the University Library copyright website.
• Access to PDFs downloaded from Library databases is generally restricted to UWA staff and students, depending on the database licence terms. PDFs downloaded from UWA Library databases should be deleted from your Data folders when you leave UWA.
